Our Story
154 years of
showing up.
In 1866, at the end of the Civil War, Robert Maxwell opened what would become the oldest family-owned clothing store in the United States. Four generations and nearly 14 decades later, great-great-great grandson Todd Maxwell is carrying on the tradition.
Todd and his partner John Falco β brewer, visionary, and self-described "kooky individual" β traded beaver felt hats for handcrafted beer and wood-fired pizza. The institution continues.
Maxwell Bros. is a loose speakeasy. In the rear, a vintage living room pays homage to the Maxwell family. Up front: beer tanks, a custom bar, and a one-of-a-kind pizza oven at the heart of it all.
"We have a great piece of allure and it is genuine. We know our patrons appreciate us for what we do."
β John Falco, Co-Owner
The Mosaic Oven
Our custom wood-fired oven is a true family piece β the mosaic tiles were hand-painted by Todd Maxwell's wife. Every pizza carries that legacy.
